Lawrence P. Eagel

Larry Eagel is a member of the firm and joined in 1994. Larry handles all types of litigation, but is particularly skilled in the areas of securities and bankruptcy related litigation. Prior to 1994, he was associated with the firm of Proskauer Rose LLP. He is also a certified public accountant, and worked in the late 1970’s as an auditor with Grant Thorton & Co. (formerly Alexander Grant & Co.) in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.

Larry's recent cases include representing certain senior secured lenders against former officers and directors. He is also representing trustees appointed by the Bankruptcy Court who have asserted similar claims. Larry has also represented real estate clients in disputes arising out of failed real estate transactions.

Larry is admitted in New York State and New Jersey and in the United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of New York, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Tax Court. He is also a member of The Association of the Bar of the City of New York, where he was a member of the Committee on Federal Legislation from 1993-1997. He is a 1983 cum laude graduate of the Brooklyn Law School, where he was a Comments Editor for the Brooklyn Law Review. He completed his undergraduate work at George Washington University in 1978, where he also earned an M.B.A. in 1980.
